50th Reunion
Life has been good! God has blessed me with a wonderful wife (Carol) for 43 years, and good health. After high school, I served Uncle Sam, and then worked in sales in Denver. At the tender age of 32, I went back to college to become a high school teacher. I moved to California in 1975 and taught accounting, business classes, coached football, basketball, track and golf.
space
I retired in 2001, having served the last 10 years as the assistant principal of administration of a new high school. Carol retired from her job as a high school math teacher. We’re enjoying retirement, being home, golfing, off-roading, traveling frequently in our RV and cruising the high seas. Life is good!

2004 Reunion
Family: Wife Carol
Notes of my life: After some years in sales, went back to school and spent 27 years in the field of education, including coaching football, basketball, track and golf. Just retired as Assist. Principal of Administration at Stockdale High School in Bakersfield, Calif.
Current Activities: Traveling in the RV, seeing the back country on the ATV, and golfing.
Plans for the future: More of the same, enjoying retirement

Two years ago the entire family went to Yellowstone in motor home — great trip — everyone should do this.

50th Reunion
Finally, I’m really retired from teaching as I quit subbing this year. It was a great career for me. My family has grown, and I jump at every opportunity to spend time with three great-nieces and three great-nephews! I continue to walk and exercise on a regular basis and enjoy it most of the time. I’m exploring a new opportunity to serve in my church. A current song, “Blessed Be Your Name,” summarizes so well my faith in the Lord Jesus. Looking forward to visiting with friends at the reunion.

2004 Reunion
Family: nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews
Notes of my life: Retired in May of ‘03 after teaching 1st, 3rd and 4th grades. Spent the summer of ‘02 on a church mission in Ecuador.
Current Activities: Substitutes once a week, participates in a Bible study group and a study group that meets at Homer’s Coffee House. Lots of walking, including a bad weather mall group at Overland Park Mall.
Plans for the future: As the Lord leads. Wants to travel and develop new hobbies.
Memories from Lawrence High Days: Pushing the caps key down on Raybert Thornton’s typewriter before a timed test in Mrs. Lardner’s class. Stage fright in the middle of a report in Mrs. McCoy’s class. A mini-snowball fight in one class while the teacher was out. The never-ending intercom announcement “Lawrence Ranks High”

I resigned in 1972 as a LCDR.

I married my wonderful wife, Janet, in 2000. She had served in the Navy as a nurse, LCDR, and is now a tax-consultant. We have enjoyed married life taking cruises, and trips exploring her interest in genealogy and history.
space
Health problems from diabetes complications have been a recent challenge, as I now need a scooter for mobility and my kidneys recently failed and I am on dialysis. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to attending the reunion!

50th Reunion
I recently retired after 20 years of service in state and county government and 25 years of owning our own business. Married to Gerold for 49 years, we have two children and four grandchildren. I’m enjoying good health and stay active with aerobics, yoga, pilates and weight lifting as well as walking. I enjoy traveling and outdoor activities. Having our children living close by in the metro area, keeps us busy with family activities. I plan to do more traveling and to volunteer as a leader in 4-H in the months to come.

The last four years have been an interesting journey. I contracted multiple myeloma cancer in August 2005. I survived that and have been cancer free for over two years.
