50th Reunion I’ve been married for 46 years and have five children and 12 grandchildren. I’m a Vietnam War veteran. I graduated from KU in 1970, via the G.I. Bill. I retired in 2004 as Regional Director for Administration at the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Kansas City, Kansas.
I coached Little League boys and girls for 41 years in various sports. My interests include community activities, daily physical exercise at the YMCA, flower and vegetable gardening, reading, praying at least once a day for those whom I have encountered in my walk through life.
My steps into the future, with its uncertainties, will be guided by my past life experiences and my faith in God.
Memory from Lawrence High Days: Mary Hammig.

2005 Newsletter
I retired in 1993 (at 52 years of age) after being a college professor of Chinese history for 26 years. We are bi-coastal, six months on a small island off the coast of R.I. (Block Island – one of the Nature Conservancy’s last 10 great places 0 one of the great garden spots on this earth and six months in S.F. (Nov. – March). We’ve been on Block Island for nearly 35 years. I take groups of friends all over the world for travel. We went to N.Z. in February and are going to Russia and Eastern Europe in May/June. Our older daughter, Bronwyn, is a Senior VP at B. of America headquarters in Charlotte; second daughter, Erin, is writing scripts/ producing Hollywood movies from the N. Shore of Oahu, where she is a dedicated surfer.
Linda and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary last summer. We enjoy good health and are constantly busy. I get back to Kansas about once a year to manage family properties, but everyone except my younger brother has passed. I’ll try to make the 50th a priority.

50th Reunion
I have been married to Bill Simpson for 26 years. We have a combined family — my two sons and his daughter. I’ve lived in Arizona since 1969.
My career consisted of 25 years in home-building and 10 years as owner of Eclectic Interior Design.
We took up golf 15 years ago and have since been seriously addicted (not GOOD, still hackers).
Future plans, since we are now both retired, is to do what we want, when we want. Our travels have changed from searching for perfect islands to long cross-country road trips, nothing scheduled, just drive, golf, and drive.
Janice Deatherage Stumpfhauser and I talk a couple times a year (I live vicariously through her grandchildren).
Hopefully we will be able to get together soon.

50th Reunion
I graduated with a BS in Home Economics from University of Nebraska Omaha in 1984, and a BA in Spanish from Bellevue University in 1985. I worked as a corporate secretary for The Midlands Company and did substitute teaching.
From 1984-2004 I traveled to Europe, Africa, Mexico and the Caribbean.
After I retired, I moved back to Lawrence in 1997. My family includes two adopted cats — Kat and Mia. I was widowed in 1993.

50th Reunion
I moved to Dallas in 1977 and worked as an accountant until I retired in 2000. A year later I started a new and fun career as the personal assistant to a multi-millionaire. I retired from that in 2006. A friend talked me into helping him out in his oil and gas business, so back to work I went.
I started breeding and showing dogs about 25 years ago. Since then I have produced several champions and traveled all over the United States, Ireland, and Scotland to dog shows. I am no longer actively breeding, but I am still an officer of two kennel clubs. In October, four friends and I will be traveling to Slovakia to the World Dog Show.
