Planning a trip to Paris?
From Elaine Hartzell Dittmer:
Our son and daughter-in-law live in the heart of the 7th arrondissement, across from the Louvre. I used to take the kids to ride their scooters around the pyramids at the Louvre when it was closed. It’s about three blocks. You can walk to almost everything very easily.
Here is the link. Oh, and people who stay with them, usually just spend their time touring Paris, and while the family is delightful, Paris is FAR MORE delightful for most people! Of course we hang out with them a LOT (9 ½ weeks last year), but they are OUR family, after all.

The link is fun to look at, even if you don’t stay there. Well, I guess I’m biased when it comes to reading about my kids and Paris!

Legal Assistance for Seniors is proud to honor Priscilla Camp with a Lifetime Achievement Award at its 2009 Annual Fundraising event.
The award will be presented by the Honorable Carol A. Belva Davis, Host of KQED's "This Week in Northern California," will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies.
We hope you will join us in celebrating Priscilla’s remarkable accomplishments as an advocate for seniors, and for her visionary work as a founder of Women Lawyers of Alameda County, Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
When: October 23, 2009
Where: Silver Dragon Restaurant, 8th & Webster, Oakland
Time: Noon until 2:00 p.m. Tickets: $125.00
Proceeds from this event will support the exemplary work of Legal Assistance for Seniors, which is the only organization in Alameda County offering free legal services exclusively to seniors in the areas of Guardianship, Elder Abuse, Consumer Law, Health Law, and Immigration. In addition to legal services, LAS houses Alameda County's Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) and offers a strong community education and outreach program that reaches close to 10,000 residents each year. To fund these services, LAS relies on support from private sources, including individual and corporate donors, to provide vital assistance to some of the most vulnerable residents of our community.
We invite you to join us for this very special occasion. To read more about Priscilla Camp, please click HERE.

October 3
Mom is stable enough to go home. Gail is home with her. Still a long road ahead but Mom is strong and optimistic. Please call her anytime. Jill
Sept. 22
Wanted to let everyone know that Mom came through the surgery quite well. There was minimal blood lose during the procedure and she looks very strong. THe surgeon removed the entire bladder. The tumor did not breach the bladder wall. The surgeon was very optimistic and we hope to have continued good news in the coming week.
Sept. 25
Continued progress. Mom made great strides down the hallway - okay small steps seem like great strides from our vantage point. Her spirits are high but her energy is low. We pray for continued strength and optimism.
Prayers for strength
Jill
Congratulations to Jim Riley
Patricia, my wife of over 42 years, passed away in Feb, 2004 after 7 years of dealing with breast cancer. I met Elaine Sims 2 years ago on E*Harmony, we were engaged last June and were married on April 4, 2009. She has three grown sons, Ryan, Eric and Stuart, and with my three, David, Jason, and Allison we will share six children. Elaine has one granddaughter and I have four granddaughters for a grand total of five. We are looking forward to the 50th in Sept and I am excited to see old friends. I have attached a recent photo of Elaine and I.
