50th Reunion
I started a career in agriculture with a field of popcorn at age 9. I attended a one-room school and was active in 4-H and FFA, through which I was awarded the American Farmer Degree. I have ranched 50 years and have been married for 45. I’m a cancer survivor. Now I’m starting to partially retire and downsize, but I’m assisting my daughter and family with their ranching operations more. I’ve been involved in the past with County Extension and Fair board. Presently, I spend considerable time as a spectator at activities of my four grandchildren.
2004 Reunion
Family: Wife Gloria, 1 daughter, 4 grandchildren
Notes of my life: Attended a one-room country school for 8 years, 4-H, FFA officer, American Farmer Degree, started an Ag career at age 9 with a field of popcorn. Evolved into a rancher, managed a large Beefalo operation. Served as Fairboard president, and Extension board member. Has survived cancer and now owns land and cattle and manages land and cattle for others.
Plans for the future: Retire partially at age 65, downsize but continue ranching indefinitely. Go fishing with grandkids and attend all their activities.
Memories from Lawrence High Days: A great football team. FFA activities and travels. Good friends. Burgers and fries.

50th Reunion
My wife is Mary and I have five children, two step-children, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
Between ’60 and ’85 I went to Emporia State (microbiology, ecology) and Texas A&M (oil/hazmat, on-site environmental management). I worked in public and environment health fields in Kansas, California and Alaska.
I obtained commercial pilot and flight instructor certificates in ’77. I worked in environmental engineering and in state over-site of the Trans Alaska Pipeline project (’74-’81). I was Gulf of Alaska Operations Manager during the Exxon Valdez oil spill (’89-’91). I retired in ’91. After that I was a commercial pilot for an Alaska commuter and bush airline for 14 years.
I still fly single and multi-engine, land and sea, airplanes (mostly for pleasure).
Several years ago I gave Larry Midyett instruction in an Alaska float plane and he obtained his seaplane rating. I wish more of my classmates would come to Alaska and look me up. I do some salmon, trout and halibut fishing in the summer and skiing in the winter.
I enjoy strumming guitar. I have been a BMI songwriter since 1962. Over the years I have co-written songs with Jim Dale and Freddie Hart: http://www.bmi.com/.
I plan to continue living in Alaska. I travel to warmer climes during part of the winter: Mexico, Central America, Taiwan, but I especially like Coronado, Calif.
I remember lots of good times with some great folks during high school. I especially enjoyed hanging out at Davis Leckron’s house.

Plans for the future: Continue living in Alaska and flying summers. Wants to spend 2-3 months in So. Calif/Arizona in the winter.
Memories from Lawrence High Days: Uh, Best discussed with my “old” buddies over a cold beer.

50th Reunion
Life has been good to me. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 48 years. Our three children are all successful in the business world and we have been blessed with seven grand children, ranging in age from 7 to 19 years. I’m retired, but Dick still work s as a consultant.
I’ve lived here in Texas for the past 25 years and enjoy it daily. I still do a lot of quilting and reading and we do travel as much as we can.
2004 Reunion
Family: Husband Dick, 3 children, 7 grandchildren
Notes of my life: Now fully retired. Travels with Dick and his consulting work, which has been very interesting: Portland, ME, Tampa, FL and at present in Farmington, NM. When home, lots of time with the grandchildren.
Current Activities: Plays quite a bit of golf, designs and makes quilts, winning some prizes at shows.
Plans for the future: To live each day to the fullest and hopefully stay healthy. So far, so good. Husband will retire some day.
Memories from Lawrence High Days: Our great football team!! Band, chorus, and of course the pride I had to say I go to LHS. I always felt I went to the best school around.
